The Fitness Assistant Coach Course from the Swedish Academy of Sport Training (SAST) provides participants with both fundamental and advanced skills required to work in personal training and fitness. The course covers scientific and practical knowledge in musculoskeletal anatomy, biomechanics, components of physical activity, nutrition, and various practical exercises. It is designed to equip individuals with a strong foundation of practical experience and knowledge, enabling them to work efficiently in fitness centers or pursue a career as assistant coaches, focusing on health promotion, fitness, and optimal performance. What You Will Learn:
Upon completing this course, students will learn:
- Musculoskeletal anatomy

- Practical exercises (basic stability exercises, functional exercises, movement exercises, etc.)
Course Duration:
The course includes 56 study hours, which must be completed within one month from the date of registration. The study includes online theoretical lessons, the course book, training videos, and audio lectures via the academy’s platform. Students will also complete chapter quizzes and the final theoretical exam on the Swedish Academy platform.

Exams and Passing Criteria
The course includes two types of exams: theoretical and practical. The exam implementation plan and the passing/failing system are as follows:
1. Theoretical Exams
All theoretical exams at SAST are conducted online via the platform, with randomized questions from the course’s question bank. Grading is immediate, and results are displayed right after the exam, following a specific passing/failing system.
Chapter Quizzes (Quiz):
Students must pass several mandatory chapter quizzes before taking the final exam:
- One mandatory quiz per chapter of the theoretical material.
- Each quiz contains up to 10 multiple-choice questions.
- Exam time: 1 minute per question.
- Passing grade: 80%
- Quizzes can be retaken an unlimited number of times.
- Students cannot take the final theoretical exam until all chapter quizzes are successfully completed.
Final Theoretical Exam:
- Students may take the final exam only after passing all chapter quizzes.
- Passing grade: 60%
- The exam contains 50 multiple-choice questions, each with four answer options.
- Exam duration: 50 minutes
- Students have a maximum of two attempts to pass.
- Students who fail both attempts may request additional attempts for $50 USD per attempt.
- The final practical exam cannot be taken unless the final theoretical exam is passed.
Final Practical Exam:
- Students must record 20 exercise videos from Chapter Five, demonstrating 10 repetitions per exercise with moderate load, recorded without sound.
- Videos are uploaded via the academy’s e-learning platform for evaluation by the examination committee.
- Results are recorded as pass or fail, with performance feedback provided.
- Students who fail may retake the practical exam for $50 USD per additional attempt.
- The final practical exam cannot be taken until the final theoretical exam is passed.
Graduation Certificate
Upon completing the course and successfully passing all exams, students will receive a Course Completion Certificate, which will be sent directly to their email and stored in their profile on the academy’s platform. The certificate is officially accredited and verified by:

- Global Council of Sport Science (GCSS)
- International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)
- Register of Exercise Professionals Tunisia (REPS Tunisia) – for Tunisian students
