The Fitness Assistant Coach Course offered by the Swedish Academy of Sport Training (SAST) provides participants with both fundamental and advanced skills required to work in the field of personal training and fitness.
The course covers scientific and practical knowledge in musculoskeletal anatomy, biomechanics, components of physical activity, nutrition, and various practical exercises.
It is designed to equip individuals with a strong foundation of experience and applied knowledge, enabling them to work efficiently in fitness centers or pursue a professional career as assistant trainers — with a focus on improving health, fitness, and optimal performance.
The course is open to everyone, with no prior experience required.

Eligibility
Anyone with the desire and ambition to enter the field of personal training and fitness (no prior experience required).
Learning Outcomes
After completing this course, the student will learn:
- Anatomy of the musculoskeletal system
- Biomechanics
- Components of physical activity
- Nutrition
- Practical exercises (core stability, functional training, mobility drills, etc.)
Course Duration
The total duration is 56 study hours, to be completed within 30 days from the course start date, divided as follows:
1. ZOOM Lectures:
12 training hours delivered via Zoom, divided into 4 study days, with 3 theoretical hours each day.
2. Online Study:
44 training hours covering the theoretical content, course book, training videos, and recorded lectures on the academy’s e-learning platform.
Students will also complete quizzes and a final theoretical exam through the SAST platform.

Exams and Success Criteria
The course includes two types of exams — theoretical and practical — with the following structure:
1. Theoretical Exams
All theoretical exams at SAST are conducted online through the platform, with randomized questions drawn from the course question bank. Results are shown instantly upon completion.
System and requirements:
Quizzes (per chapter):
- One mandatory quiz per chapter.
- Up to 10 multiple-choice questions.
- Time allowed: 1 minute per question.
- Passing grade: 80%.
- Unlimited quiz attempts allowed.
- Final exam access is granted only after passing all quizzes successfully.
Final Theoretical Exam:
- Accessible only after passing all required quizzes.
- Passing grade: 60%.
- Includes 50 multiple-choice questions.
- Duration: 50 minutes.
- Up to 2 attempts allowed.
- Additional attempts may be requested for a $50 fee per attempt.
- The practical final exam cannot be taken until the theoretical final exam is passed.
2. Practical Final Exam
- The student must record 20 exercise videos from Chapter 5, demonstrating each exercise with 10 repetitions at moderate intensity and without sound.
- The videos must be uploaded to the SAST e-learning platform for evaluation by the assessment committee.
- The result will be Pass/Fail, with feedback provided (no grades or percentages).
- Students who fail may retake the practical exam for a $50 fee per attempt.
- The practical exam cannot be taken before passing the theoretical exam.
Certificate of Completion
Upon successfully completing the course and passing all exams, the student will receive an official certificate of completion, sent directly by email and stored in the student’s profile on the academy’s platform.

- Global Council of Sport Science (GCSS)
- International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)
